Halloween celebrations

Time: Friday, October 25, 2019 19:00-22:00
Location: 1911 Café, Tsinghua University

Tsinghua Shuō Society spearheaded Halloween celebrations this year and hosted an unforgettable, surprise-filled night for more than 250 students. A myriad of imaginative costumes, coupled with unfathomable amounts of fun treats and hearty laughter were shared between students who gathered in Tsinghua University from all across the world.

The mystical significance of Halloween was celebrated by students who donned costumes that were spooky, interesting, creative and spooked unsuspecting peers but posed as a perfect conversation starter all at the same time. The students not only had the opportunity to mingle with new peers, but also indulged in a series of exhilarating games, more notably, a virtual reality experience that rivalled their courage to explore haunted houses, asylums and fight crooked clowns. Meticulously ornamented and designed by the Tsinghua Shuō team, the space also encouraged attendees to immortalise their memories at a polaroid photobooth and various pictorial spots.

As the night progressed, their spirits were peaked with the impressive dance performances by The Scat Dance Crew and Silhouette Dance Crew. A compelling duet by rappers Neil and Paul, who stunned the crowd with their creative spin on classic Chinese songs and English-Korean rap verses showcased the expansive pool of talent and artistry in Tsinghua. Warm cheers and newly ignited friendships cast away cold shivers of the night.
